Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Beginner - Advanced Level
I will offer personalized tutoring to help you become the best student you can be as you navigate your current math materials. This can look like homework help, practicing a skill, or studying for that test. I am able to teach on subjects that a typical 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student would encounter in a math class.

For a 6th grade student this could include whole number operations, integer operations, ration numbers, expressions, equations, inequalities, proportional relationships, measurement and geometry, and data and statistics.
For a 7th grade student this could include number sense, expressions, equations, inequalities, ratios, proportions, percents, functions, graphing, geometry, measurement, area, volume, probability, and statistics.
For an 8th grade student this could include real numbers, algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, rations, proportions, percents, functions, linear relationships, systems of equations, geometry, measurement, area, volume, probability, and statistics.

I will ask you to bring any materials that you want specifically covered to class. If you aren't sure what you want covered, I will ask what you are studying now and supplement your learning with my own materials.
I love to teach using a document camera and my math tools (calculator, ruler, protractor, etc.). I will do a problem to demonstrate the knowledge and give you a big picture idea, we do a problem to practice, and then you will do a problem while I observe and give pointers.
We will have a fluid conversation throughout the class time to allow you to grow in your understanding. I look for great conversations to help me know what you know!
Learning Goals
I can grow in my understanding of math skills to become a student who performs at my desired goal.
I can communicate my needs to the teacher with clarity and specificity.
