Please note this class has a minimum enrolment of 2 students. If you are seeking tutoring for 1 child only please see my other listings for individualised tutoring. This class gives the opportuntiy for siblings to work together. This can be supportive for students and cost beneficial for the parents. Siblings with up to a 2 year age gap are welcome to enrol as sper these age groups: (6 and 7yrs) (6 and 8yrs) (7 and 8 yrs) (7 and 9 yrs) (8 and 9 yrs) 8 and 10yrs) (9 and 10yrs) I will be working on consolidating and building on the student's knowledge of spelling and phonemic patterns and their application of these in reading. The student will then have a 'toolbox' of patterns to draw from when spelling and reading unknown words. This approach encourages children to think crtically about and to be able to justify their spelling choices, rather than relying purely on a sight vocabulary. It also enhances their reading decoding skills as they become aware that even multi syllable words can be successfully decoded and spelt accurately, as they recognise the patterns with the word. This will be a systematic approach to teaching, however as the class is limited to 2 learners, the course may also be able to accommodate requests made by the caregivers or learners to target areas of need such as project or home assignment task.
Learning Goals
The student and their caregivers will have a greater understanding of the students' knowledge of spelling and phonemic patterns, areas of strength and the areas they need to work on.
The student will broadedn their knowledge base of these skills, thus empowering them to work with more accuracy in reading writing and spelling

The students will be asked to bring a pen/pencil to each class and a folder to store their work in. Please send me a sample of your writing prior to the class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
