Description

Class Experience

You will learn how to improve a specific writing assignment or how to improve your writing in general. If you're looking for general help, we can focus on:

Writing mechanics, such as grammar, revision, punctuation
Writing components, such as words, sentences, paragraphs
Writing purposes, such as persuasion, compare/contrast, description
The writing process -- what should happen in each stage, when to move from one stage to the next
After getting my MA in English and teaching college writing, I became a writer and editor for 35 years. I started out my career as a newspaper copy editor, became the managing editor of a magazine, and then worked in business communications, training, and coaching writing. I love the nuts-and-bolts aspects of writing and editing, and helping writers succeed.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
