Tutoring will focus on helping the student write a college application essay, which may or may not be with the Common App. We can cover the strategy of choosing a prompt, audience and purpose, and using the steps in the writing process. People often struggle with idea generation. With a college application, students may also feel like they need to say exactly what the admissions officials want to hear, but that's not the way to go. I can guide you through all of the steps and help you...
Students will plan, prewrite, draft, and revise an essay to use as a college admission essay, likely for the Common App.
For many years, I've taught writing and communication skills at community college, which includes about a 100 high school students a year. My classes there include some workshop time, when I can work one on one with a few students each session. I have tutored in student learning centers as well. My Master's degree is in English with a minor in psychology.
55 minutes per class, and maybe some time outside of class.
