This class is taught in English.
The student will be able to sound out and read grade appropriate words. The student will be able to sit and read a book for 10-20 minutes independently. The student will comprehend what they are reading. The student will be able to understand math through word problems and apply many strategies to figure out a problem. The student will work towards brainstorming and writing a paragraph with 1-5 sentences. The teacher and parent will come up with specific goals for each learner.
I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach in grades k-6. I am also Reading Endorsed and ESOL (English as a second language) Endorsed. This is my 8th year of teaching. I have taught first, second, and fifth grade. I am currently homeschooling my son in Kindergarten.
The teacher will email the parent with concepts that can be reviewed throughout the week.
Supplies for class: -paper -pencil -crayons -counters (anything your child can count with for math) -white board and white board markers (optional)
