Class Experience

This class consists of three highly-interactive sessions that expose the opportunities created by failure.  I will help participating teens develop the essential qualities of winners.  This 3-part course is meant for ALL teens, from ordinary students to team captains to future business leaders.  They will see any failure as an opportunity to succeed.  

In Session 1, we will cover:
  Losing Doesn't Make You a Loser.
    * Success Does Not Always Equal Winning
    * Dealing With the Negativity Emotions of a Loss
    * The Six Failure Traps
    * Failure is Not Final
In Session 2, we will cover: 
  The Spirit of Learning
    * Humility vs Pride
    * You Don't Have to be the Expert 
    * Make the Most Out of Your Mistakes
Session 3 will cover:
  Progress, Not Perfection
    * Improvement Counts
    * Responding to Failure
   * Choosing Improvement
   * Leaving Your Comfort Zone
   * Making Bite-Sized Chunks of Commitment Every Day
   * Going to the Next Level --Turning Failure into Success

Learning Goals

Students will learn 
- that failure is a necessary step to success. 
- how to talk positively to themselves to overcome negative noise from others. 
- what they must do daily to defeat a loss or failure and turn it into a success. 
- how to be in charge of defining their own success.

Supply List
Students will need to record journal writing (to be kept private) on paper or electronically on a computer, iPad, phone, etc.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am using John C. Maxwell's book Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn for Teens as a guide and reference. Students do not need to purchase.
