Turn Into a Jumping Spider! Bug Science With Ms. Morgan (One Time Class)
Class experience
Love bugs? Nature? Learning about wildlife? In this class students will learn all about what it's like to be a jumping spider. (By being turned into one!) It the perfect class for bug loving learners. Jumping spiders are the largest family of spider and can be found all over the world! They are very unique from other spiders and make for a fascinating subject of study. This class will cover jumping spider morphology, taxonomy, how and when they sleep, their nests and where to find them,...
Students will come away understanding what a day in the life of a jumping spider is like. They will learn about their anatomy, taxonomy, how they perceive the world, what they eat, where they live, and more. Ultimately my goal is to help learners develop a deeper appreciation and awareness of these adorable arachnids.
I love learning and teaching about all kinds of creatures, especially spiders! And jumping spiders are among some of the coolest. I have taught and worked with young children for over 15 years in Montessori classrooms, in the home, out in nature, at camp, and in extracurricular and sports setting. I have an associates degree in psychology and am working on towards higher degrees in child and adolescent psychology with a focus on education. I love teaching young children and am endlessly fascinated by the developing brain. My mission is to provide the most valuable learning experiences to every child I have the opportunity to interact with.
