Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this class, students will listen to the hilarious tale of Turk and Runt, two turkeys that live on Wishbone Farm. Turk is the biggest, strongest bird, but Runt, not so much. But as people come to the farm to find turkeys for their Thanksgiving feast, it's Runt who helps save the day! After the story, the students will get to play a Turk and Runt game, where they take turns controlling the screen. Finally, we will compare and contrast the character traits of the two turkeys with a flip-up craft. Come celebrate Thanksgiving early with this fun class!
Learning Goals

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Teacher Shannon! I have taught 2nd grade for 24 years. I've taught both Gifted and Regular Education. I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years. What drives me as a teacher is to have a fun, safe, interactive classroom while embracing lots of quality literature. I want kids to love reading as much as I do and to have fun learning! And maybe make a craft or two along the way!
