Class Experience

This is a “first steps” course; no previous experience required.
This class is designed to equip the ukulele learner with the tools necessary in order to begin making music.

We will learn:
- the purpose of each part of the instrument (body, fretboard, tuning keys, strings, etc)
- how to tune the instrument
• each learner will receive individual attention when learning to tune their ukulele
- proper technique (how to hold the Uke, how to fret a note, holding the guitar pick)
- we will take a look at a few easy songs so that your student can begin making music! :)

Learning Goals

The goal of this class is for every learner to have a ukulele that is tuned up and ready to rock by the end of the session. They will learn how to tune using a handful of different methods.
Learners will also be given a couple songs to practice. Hopefully, we will have enough time to play through both songs in class.

I teach guitar, ukulele, beginning piano, and drums!

I’ve been teaching private lessons for the better part of ten years.

As a self taught musician - turned - instructor, I aim to present learning music as less of a task and more of a gateway into the world of art as a whole. Sure, I tried the beginners books and things of the like. But what really fanned the flame was learning a song that I already enjoyed by a band I already loved. I take the same approach in my teaching. I want to, as quickly as possible, have the learner playing songs they will enjoy.
