Homework
Daily practice will be necessary, but we can discuss and agree upon an appropriate amount of time to commit to daily.Class Experience
Beginners will learn how to hold the instrument, the fingerings, the notes on the musical staff, how to produce a tone, how to develop their sound, how to read rhythms, how to play simple melodies, how to play a scale, and will receive a practice routine that will aid them in improving daily. Intermediate students will learn how to approach practicing effectively, how to develop their tone, how to build their range, how to play technical passages in music, a multitude of different fundamental exercises, and will develop a daily practice routine. I will work with my advanced students to help them reach their personal goals (auditions, repertoire, etc.). We will develop a solid daily fundamental routine to help them build their foundation as a trumpet player, and I will help them to grow their musicality.

Supply List
A trumpet, a mouthpiece, trumpet maintenance supplies (valve oil, cleaning equipment, slide grease).
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Method books may be suggested, but that will depend on the level of the student (to be discussed in lessons).

I have my Bachelor degree in music from Florida State University and a Master's degree in Jazz Studies from Temple University.
