What's included

Homework

Assessment
Learners will receive written or video feedback based on their submitted recordings.

Class Experience

In this flex class, learners can work at their own pace as we explore the fundamentals of trumpet playing to ensure that each student has all the basic skills they need to set the foundation for a lifetime of playing music. There will be 3 videos from me per week (listed in more detail below). Learners are encouraged to practice the material explained in the videos and record themselves performing the songs each week. After recording the songs each week, learners will upload them to the classroom where everyone is encouraged to leave positive, helpful feedback. I will also provide individualized feedback based on students videos every week. Learners are also encouraged to reach out to me with any questions and/or discuss any difficulties with their peers in the classroom.
No prior musical knowledge/experience is necessary. Please have your own trumpet and mouthpiece for class. Recordings can be made using a cell phone or computer camera.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Chris, and I am passionate about teaching music to kids of all ages. I started studying trumpet at the age of 8, and music has been a huge part of my life ever since. I enjoy teaching individual and class trumpet lessons as well as introducing the trumpet to students who may not know much about it. I have a Master's degree in music and throughout my studies, I have also delved into the worlds of composing music, arranging music for different instruments, music production, and conducting. I am eager to share my knowledge with aspiring musicians in a creative and engaging environment. In my classes, I will always encourage participation and critical thinking to develop skills that last a lifetime.
