Trouble With a Good Heart- Clementine Book Club

This class is taught in English.

During this book club we will work on higher order thinking skills, through asking and answering discussion questions.  We will work on our reading fluency and reading in big scoops.  We will also practice phonics decoding and word building skills.   Students will also work on building vocabulary and writing skills. 

I have taught elementary school for the past 8 years from early years to grade 4 in international school settings.  I have worked with both the British National Curriculum and the US Common Core State Standards.  I have spent the past two years teaching second-grade at a US curriculum school.  I have a teaching degree from Arizona State with a Structured English Immersion endorsement.  I am also currently completing my masters degree in Educational Technology with an emphasis on individualized learning. 

Students will be asked to read 2 chapters between each class meeting as there are 10 chapters in the book.  The other chapters will be read aloud in class.  

2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
