In this course learners enjoy a fun sing-a-long/dance party! Learners are engaged with a custom Trolls World Tour slide show! We will learn Troll names and even practice CVC words along the way! (Cvc words vary per listed class)

Beginner Level
Class begins and ends with a fun Trolls World Tour Lyric video sing-along/dance party. Learners will follow along with a fun slide show all about Trolls World Tour! We will be able to review/practice our letter sounds and learn names of trolls in the movie along the way! Teacher will model each letter sound and learner will echo that sound. I will guide learners by using the explicit phonics method. Learner will first separate the sounds and then blend! The National Reading Panel (2000) research emphasized the importance of: intensive, explicit, systematic phonics instruction and the positive effects on struggling readers' reading skills. This type of instruction is best practice for all students, but particularly struggling readers. We will review 5 letter sounds each day along with cvc words. We will utilize kinesthetic movements to segment cvc words as well. We will echo read with sentences with cvc words if time permits. On our last day together we will read short stories (decodables). During story time, we echo read to stay engaged and search for words we may know.
