This 3-day class will introduce learners to the topic of Trigonometry. Trigonometry is the study of mathematics relating the sides and angles of a triangle and has many applications. Section 1: I will teach students the importance of trigonometry and when it can be used. They will also learn how to identify the reference angle and sides of the triangle. Section 2: I will teach students how to set up and solve triangles using trigonometry. I will also show them how to calculate using the trig buttons on their calculators. Section 3: I will show students various real world applications where trigonometry can be used. This will really deepen their understanding and appreciation for the subject. Every section will be taught through PowerPoint slides and ample time to practice through examples. I will teach a concept, they will get to practice individually, and then we will discuss as a small group. Screen share capabilities will allow me to check their work and provide feedback in real time. Students should have completed a course in Algebra before taking this class.

Students should have access to an electronic device, pen & paper, and a calculator that can perform trig operations.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
