Do you love cats? Do you wish you had a stronger bond with your cat? Would you like to better understand your cat? Do you want your cat to be a star? See how trick training improves your relationship with your furry friend. In this class I, with the assistance of my two cats, Shinobi and Rygel, will show you how to teach your cat fun tricks. These tricks include high fives, play dead, roll over, etc. plus how to teach your cat to walk on a leash. In each class, there will be a demonstration of the desired behavior, a detailed step by step video on how to achieve the behavior, and then the explanation of why this works for your cat. Students will learn the principles of gentle animal training through positive reinforcement. We will discuss common problems that a trainer may encounter. We will also discuss habits of successful trainers. Students will learn patience and gentleness as they learn how to communicate with their cat.

over 7 WeeksLesson 1:
Handshakes, high fives, and fist bumps.
Teach your cat to shake hands, and learn to put a fun twist as high fives or fist bumps. This trick is easy to learn and requires little physical effort, so all cats, young and old, can learn this one! An important trick later on, so help your cat to learn this well! 30 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Might as well jump
This lesson will help you to train your cat to jump over your arm or leg, progressing to jumping through hoops, 29 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Acting 101
You will learn how to train your cat to play dead (or lie down if you prefer) and roll over. This trick will take a bit more patience, and is the first big step up in difficulty 31 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Walk like a cat!
Teach your cat to walk on a harness confidently. Learn how to train your cat to wear a harness safely, and then how to get them to walk with you. Also discussed are some basic safety practices to prevent losing your adventure cat 31 mins of video lessons

Younger children should be supervised while working with animals.
Supply List
Cat harness and leash, paper or plastic cups, dinner bell, and a long plastic or wooden dowel or stick. And lots of cat treats!

My name is Danielle. I live in Wyoming in the USA. I love hiking in the mountains here. I have my bachelors degree in education and I have my 150 hour TEFL certificate. I have been teaching professionally for seven years. For many years before I finished my degree, I taught as a volunteer, teaching students that ranged in skill from beginner to advanced, both young children and adults. I taught a variety of subjects, including ancient history, public speaking, and English. Teaching is my passion! Even my hobbies include teaching. I love riding and training horses. My horse, Sirocco, knows more than 10 different tricks, including doing addition, subtraction, simple multiplication, and answering yes or no questions. My cat, Shinobi, also knows about a dozen tricks. My teaching philosophy is one of supportive exploration: learning is a journey, and I want my students to be excited about their journey. My role is as a guide to help them explore and understand the lesson. Just like every sunset is different, no two people learn exactly the same way. So I adapt to my students preferred learning style and build confidence in their abilities, progressing to reach out and master new and more challenging abilities.
