Class Experience
In this course, learners will go on a Halloween Trick-or-Treat Adventure. Each house we encounter will have a question for us to solve: match the word with the corresponding picture. Each word will contain a consonant blend (like "sp", "bl", "tr" in words such as "spin", "block", "trap") We will practice sounding out each letter, then blending the sounds to make a word. Additional instruction will be given where necessary. When we get the question right, we will earn a piece of virtual candy...
This class is taught in English.
Students will practice matching words with consonant blends with corresponding pictures. Students will also practice Trick-or-Treat procedure and manners!
Before graduating college, I worked as an afterschool tutor for students grades K-6 for 2 years. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University in 2014. I taught 1st grade for 4 years before becoming a stay-at-home mother. I have been teaching on Outschool since August 2022!
No homework is required, but an optional CVC worksheet will be provided for independent practice after the class.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
*Adventure Spoiler* We will be running into a "haunted house" with mild spooky images (bats and a very cute ghost).
