Class Experience

Reading music isn't hard - but it's just takes a little practice. Make this experience unforgettable and stress free as your child plays their way through the foundations of musical literacy. This class is best suited for children who have not learned to read the treble clef or for students who have learned the notes but need more practice.

The students will engage in two interactive games: the first with a farm theme, and the second with a outer space theme. Both escape games are fun and age appropriate. Games will review treble clef note names and concepts taught in this class.

Class will begin with introductions and expectations. I will give an introduction to the treble clef and explain that it is where high notes are written. The notes on the spaces of the treble clef will be introduced. Students will learn to identify them quickly by remembering the word FACE. A slide presentation will be used to demonstrate. The students will then be involved in an interactive escape-room style game where they will be introduced to Miss MacDonald's Farm. Miss MacDonald is missing her prize pig, Henry. The students will use their knowledge of the treble clef space notes to solve the mystery.

After solving the mystery, a new outer space dilemma is revealed, but the students will learn the names of the notes on the lines of the treble clef to help all of Miss MacDonald's farm animals.

Students taking this class should be able to identify the letters of the alphabet. It will also be helpful if they can write, but the class can be completed with the help of a parent if not.

Learning Goals
