During this class learners will learn how to use co-ordinates to find hidden pirate treasure on a map. Learners will learn how to read and write co-ordinates using the x and the y axis on a grid and then find the pirate treasure! The lesson will start with a video explaining how to read co-ordinates and then move on to explaining we would write co-ordinates. Learners will then be shown a map of a pirate island and asked to locate certain treasures. This class will also look at direction of the compass points, North, East, South an West and learners will be asked which direction we would need to travel to locate different places on the pirate treasure map. A fun fact about myself is that I absolutely love rollercoasters and theme parks!
