We start our class with an introduction of subjects and predicates. Then we will be taking a virtual field trip by "flying" to Paris and while we fly, the students will begin to identify subjects and predicates in sentences. As we get near Paris, they will enjoy seeing the skyline of Paris. Once in Paris, the students will practice identifying subjects and predicates while "touring" Paris. They will enjoy seeing a culture different from their own. They will "visit" various sites around Paris while working with subjects and predicates as they go. Students should be able to read and write simple sentences to participate in this class. More advanced students will be expected to write at a higher level. There will be a creative writing assignment which will incorporate what they learned in class and centered around Paris. I will be modeling the homework assignment to help encourage creativity. Parents will receive instructions for the homework assignment along with a copy of my sample. I will also include a youtube link and two additional assignments if you would like them to have more practice.
