Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 6
Are you going to be visiting a national park soon? Have you visited a national park in the past? Are you interested in learning more about a national park, or national parks, in the state that you live in? Join me to learn more about the national park, or national parks, of your choosing. These personalized one-on-one sessions are designed to meet the needs of each individual student/family.

Classes will be taught through discussion and using pictures. I have been to many of the national parks listed below and have extensively researched each of these parks. Many of the pictures being shared with learners are my own as well as from the National Park Service. We will discuss the geology, geography, wildlife, history and fun facts about the national parks of your choice.

Students will be given ample time to ask questions and express their thoughts throughout the lesson. At the end of each lesson learners will be given a few fun "check for understanding" questions to help them with retaining information about what was taught during the lesson. Learners will also be given the opportunity to share what they learned, what they would like to explore, or what they have explored, at the national park/parks discussed. Students only need an interest in nature, wildlife and/or history to enjoy this class. Extension activities will be shared with learners for each lesson.

Each park will be taught in a separate class period as each lesson will run approximately 40 minutes. You can choose to learn about just one park or as many parks as you choose.

*Sibling or private group lessons are an option for this class.
*Sibling discount available upon request.

The national park/monument that learners can choose to learn about are listed below. Please message me before class begins identifying the park/parks/monument/monuments that you would like for me to teach about in each class session. If you do not see a park/monument listed that you are interested in, send me a private message and I'll see if it is a park/monument that I can add to my list :).

I have a BA in elementary education with a minor in history. I love teaching all subjects but most of all, I love teaching others about the world around them. I have a great love for history, nature and the great outdoors. I have been blessed throughout my life to have spent a lot of time traveling across the United States. During this time, I have been able to explore many of our country's beautiful National Parks. My parents were both educators. My dad was also a park ranger for many years before becoming a classroom teacher. My parents both instilled in me at a young age the love for learning, teaching and appreciating nature. I love sharing these same principles with others!
