Ciao andiamo in Italia! Let's go to Italy! Join me and Isa the cat on a trip to Italy this spring/summer! We will be exploring the land of pizza and pasta by learning about the geography of Italy (different regions and landscapes). We will visit popular cities like Rome and Florence as we travel through the country and learn about famous landmarks such as the Colosseum and the leaning tower of Pisa! Learners will engage in slide-show presentation and a virtual reality using the Nearpod platform . We will tour Italy from the North all the way to the South. We will begin by exploring the famous lakes and mountains, touring the famous rolling hills of Tuscany, and end up at the beach in Sicily. We will be exploring food as we virtually travel across the country. In addition, learners will discover how to say a few things in Italian and how to properly pronounce all the different food! Isa and I are looking forward to traveling with you all!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello families! My name is Edria and I am a certified teacher from Ontario, Canada! I have 8 years of teaching experience in the classroom and online education.
I have a degree in Psychology and French studies, with a specialization in teaching French. I began my teaching career in French as a Second Language (Core French) in middle school and transitioned into teaching French Immersion to Grade 1's. Outside the classroom, I have had the opportunity to work abroad, teaching and mentoring Canadian students during film productions. In 2020, I co-founded a Nonprofit Organization that provides free computer programming and English courses to children and youth in need. I believe that education is a right, and it must be accessible to all.
I have a great passion for languages! I am currently learning German and Greek (simultaneously!). I speak English, French, and Albanian. I believe that learning a new language can be daunting and exciting at the same time. That is why my teaching philosophy is to remain adaptable and flexible for each student's needs, creating a safe environment for them to participate and learn with ease. Learning should be fun and engaging, and I strive my best to create a space where my students are enjoying their learning experience.
In addition to languages, my other passion is to travel and learn about different cultures and food. I am also an animal lover and have a cat that walks on a leash! I take great pride and joy in taking care of animals. Some of my classes are even catered towards cat lovers!
I look forward to meeting you soon and learning together!
