This is an ongoing class taught by a native Russian educator. All lessons will be recorded and posted and materials are provided. Students will learn about Russia, geographic location, wars, great leaders, food and culture. Students will watch a visual representation with colorful pictures and videos. We will have a discussion, learn new vocabulary, play games and then students will each have a chance to share any piece of information they know about the slides or experiences about being in Russia. At the end of each session students can expect to be able to do the following: -Listen the story about one of the famous Russian place or a city. -Learn how greet people and answer in Russian -Create simple questions such as How are you? What is your name? How old are you? -Learn a new food -Watch a short videoclip or a cartoon -Play Kahoot -Use Pear Desk to be involved interactively in short activities Week 1: Topic Moscow and 1812 War with Frenchmen Week 2: Topic St. Petersburg and Peter The First Week 3: Topic Siberia and Gulag Week 4: Black Sea surrounded by former Russian republics Next week topics will be announced later. I will assign different interactive activities weekly to keep the students engaged. The students will talk to each other asking questions in Russian using new vocabulary. Also, we will play interactive game "I have/What do you have?". Each student will create a short personal story and post it in the classroom during the last week of instruction. All assignments and audio/video clips will be reviewed by me and short feedback will be offered as soon as possible. I use Kahoots and Pear desk software to practice the grammar and vocabulary checking for understanding. I am always available via email and I am happy to make myself available for a live chat right after the student finished the lesson. I offer live office consultations by your request as well. #Russianhistory, #Russianculture, #TraveltoRussia
