Description
Class Experience
Welcome to Karen's travel course! This class focuses on traversing Paris. Madeline, the beloved cartoon character, will act as our guide while we tour this city. Each class will have a PowerPoint presentation that students will follow along with during class. Videos, pictures, quizzes, and games will be used to motivate each learner. This class will focus both on the highlights of Paris and the Madeline stories. In each class a Madeline story will be read aloud to the students. We will then...
Here is a breakdown of the course... Week 1: Students will be introduced to the teacher and other enrolled students. We will begin class by listening to the story "Madeline" written and illustrated by Ludwig Bemelmans, the first in a series of eleven books. We will then visit Place de la Concorde (a popular square in Paris). Paris Zoological Park, and the Eiffel Tower; all of which were pictured in today's story. Week 2: This week we listen to "Madeline & the Old House in Paris" by Ludwig Bemelmans. Today's locations include the Cathedral Notre-Dame, Saint-Louis Island, and Pont Alexandre III bridge, all along the Seine river. Week 3: During week 3 we listen to "Madeline's Rescue" by Ludwig Bemelmans. We will visit the Basillica of the Sacred Heart (Sacré-Cœur), the Père Lachaise Cemetery, and the Tuileries Garden. Week 4: During our final week we will read "Madeline and the Bad Hat" by Ludwig Bemelmans. We visit some famous locations not seen before such as the Louvre museum, Champs-Élysées, and the Palace of Versailles. BEFORE CLASS: 1. My classroom policies are listed on my teaching profile. I recommend you read them before class begins. 2. I recommend that parents review this "Zoom Support" article before class to help solve any technical issues that may arise. http://gg.gg/zoomsupport
