Having backpacked and lived in Europe, I have spent over seven months journeying around the nation of England. I am a travel enthusiast and love learning about architecture and the history of each place I visit. In class, I plan to use my own travel experience to motivate students to travel to England themselves someday!Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Welcome to Karen's travel course! This class focuses on traversing England. Each class will have a PowerPoint presentation that students will follow along with during class. Videos, pictures, quizzes, and games will be used to motivate each learner. Having backpacked and lived in England myself, I plan to share my own photos and travel experiences with the students in this class. Students will learn about the history and beauty of England's attractions and the geography of the country alongside our favorite character Peter Rabbit. We will also listen together each week to a Peter Rabbit story before we begin travelling to different locations. Here is a breakdown of the course... Week 1: Students will be introduced to the teacher, other enrolled students, and course syllabus. Students will listen to a Peter Rabbit story together. Then we will begin our travels in the city of London and discuss the major landmarks and culture of the capital. Week 2: We begin this week's class learning about the southwest of England. Home to the county Cornwall, students will learn about Land's End and what coastal culture is like in England. Other small towns and natural wonders will be featured. On our way down south, we'll stop at Stonehenge and learn about the mystery behind these ancient ruins. Week 3: Next we travel up through the Cotswolds, and learn about the history of cities Bath and Oxford. Week 4: Now we're traveling up north to the Lake District, home to Peter Rabbit, our travel guide! Once home to Beatrix Potter, students will learn about the natural beauty of this area that inspired the books of Peter Rabbit. BEFORE CLASS: 1. My classroom policies are listed on my teaching profile. I recommend you read them before class begins. 2. I recommend that parents review this "Zoom Support" article before class to help solve any technical issues that may arise. http://gg.gg/zoomsupport

My courses engage young learners in a wide array of topics. Through discussion groups, book clubs, travel adventures, games, and role-playing activities, joining in my online classroom is guaranteed to be a fun and engaging experience. My class topics come from real life experiences. Whether it be my life-long love for the Harry Potter series, backpacking Europe to discover the delights of books and films, or my own keen sense of adventure and play, I only offer courses on things that deeply inspire me.
In my classroom, your enrollee will be engaged by my own excitement for learning. I use webcam software in my classroom that allows me to use videos, music, green-screening, animations, and more to make my classroom a captivating experience. Not to mention, my love for costumes and role-playing allow me to create an immersive experience in each class.

I think education should be made fun by allowing kids to learn about topics through their own interests. Learning in my classroom is an energetic experience that focuses on engaging each student to participate actively. Each child will have their own chance to express their opinions, thoughts, and ask questions.
Alright, enough about me! Time to dive in and have some fun!
