Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Do you want to learn more about many of the national parks that are in the United States of America? I have been to many of these national parks listed and can't wait to teach you all about them! Since this class meets in an ongoing format you did not have to attend "National Parks Tour Round 1" to enjoy this class :)!

*Follow up activities will be provided at the end of every class. This will help to enhance each learners knowledge of the park/s that they learn about.

Classes will be taught through discussion and using pictures. I have extensively researched each of these parks. Many pictures and facts shared with learners are from my own knowledge and information gathered from the National Park Service. I have visited many of these parks which help to enhance the discussion of each of these parks. We will discuss the geology, geography, wildlife, history and fun facts about each of these listed parks.

Students will be given ample opportunity to ask questions and express their thoughts during the lesson. At the end of each lesson learners will be given a few fun "check for understanding" questions to help them with retaining information about what was taught during the lesson. Learners will also be given the opportunity to share what they learned and liked about the national park discussed.

Students only need an interest in nature, wildlife and/or history to enjoy this class. No homework is required for this course but activities will be provided that learners are encouraged to do to help enhance their learning.

The national parks that will be taught in this class are: Crater Lake, Hawai'i Volcanoes, Acadia, Great Smoky Mountains, Dry Tortugas, White Sands, Mammoth Cave, Joshua Tree and Isle Royale. *Please look below for the exact dates of when each national park will be taught.

Are you interested in a park not on the list? Check out my "National Parks Tour Round 1 or Round 3" classes and see if your favorite national park will be taught in those classes :).

* This class will sometimes go up to 5 min. over the scheduled time depending upon learner discussion and questions, but learners are welcome to leave whenever they need to. *Class time may be adjusted for classes with a smaller number of students.

*Sibling discounts are available upon request.

I have a BA in elementary education with a minor in history. I love teaching all subjects but most of all, I love teaching young learners about the world around them. I have a great love for history, nature and the great outdoors. I have been blessed throughout my life to have spent a lot of time traveling across the United States. During this time I have been able to explore many of our country's beautiful National Parks and monuments. My parents were both educators and instilled in me at a young age the love for learning, teaching and appreciating nature. I love sharing these same principals with others!
