Do you want to learn more about many of the national parks that are in the United States? I have been to each of these listed national parks and can't wait to teach you all about them :)! Each week we will explore a different national park (and one national monument). Since this class meets in an ongoing format, each week's content stands on its own and does not require previous knowledge or attendance. *Extension activities will be provided for each learner at the beginning of each...
The goal of this class is for students to learn about the geography, geology, wildlife and the history of each of the listed national parks.
I have a BA in elementary education with a minor in history. I love teaching all subjects but most of all, I love teaching others about the world around them. I have a great love for history, nature and the great outdoors. I have been blessed throughout my life to have spent a lot of time traveling across the United States. During this time, I have been able to explore many of our country's beautiful National and State Parks. My parents were both educators. My dad was also a park ranger for many years before becoming a classroom teacher. My parents both instilled in me at a young age the love for learning, teaching and appreciating nature. I love sharing these same principles with others!
Supplemental material will be provided however, no homework is required for this course. I will be sharing additional resources for students interested in learning more about each national park.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment will be given for this class however, at the end of each lesson learners will be given a few fun "check for understanding" questions to help them with retaining information about what was taught during the lesson.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
