Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Trek across the world's most beautiful National Parks in this ongoing escape room challenge!

In this course, students will participate in an escape room challenge as we travel virtually to one National Park around the world each week. Some of the things students will learn are where each is located in the world, interesting features in the park, which plants and animals thrive there, along with other interesting facts. In addition, students will learn interesting details about the geography and geology of the areas we cover in this course. As we travel virtually, this class will be presented in a lecture format and students will watch a series of video clips and answer questions along the way via our challenge. Students are able to work together as a team as we make our way through these lessons. The challenge is designed to get students to listen closely to the content and to think critically about the answers.

This class is presented in Nearpod and I will screen share the content so that students do not have to create an account. Some students prefer to bring along a notepad to jot down some of the content along the way so that they can remember details as we make our way through each park.

Students may bring along a journal, if they wish, to make notes about all of the places we visit throughout the course. As with all ongoing classes, students can jump in and out of class as needed.

Escape room challenges build critical thinking skills, are great as memory building classes, provide the ability to work as a team, and build confidence as students work through the questions.

I am looking forward to a fun adventure as we make our way around the world's national parks.
