Class Experience

Students will learn to label a blank map of the United States.

Students will learn the capital of each state and that capital cities play a vital role in running the fifty states.
Capitals house the legislative, executive, and, in most cases, the judicial branch of the state government.
Within the capital the building in which the state legislative houses meet is called a capitol. (The words capitol and capital can easily be mixed up and we will learn the difference.)
State capitals are often a center of culture and history for their state.

Students will learn a few interesting facts about each state.

----- COLOR PAGES have a purpose. ----- I personalize when possible and design the coloring pages to "train the brain" to focus on course content. Coloring also nurtures creativity and is a relaxing way to process new information or review learning.

                                             **FAMILY - FUN IDEA**
Make a date with your learner. Print 2 copies of the coloring pages, grab some crayons, markers, or colored pencils. Make a healthy (or not) snack. Set a timer for 15 minutes. Brush away the mail, books, dishes, or laundry to find a clear spot to sit down. Color along with your child as they talk about what they learned in class. When the timer goes "off"... (recess is over) resume back to your normal "scheduled" duties. 😉
 3 files available upon enrollment
**100 page spiral notebook **copies of weekly handouts pencil, crayons, colored pencils, markers, tape, glue or rubber cement
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
