We are part of a unique and special global community. There are lots of wonderful things we can learn from each other and lots of beautiful things to appreciate from different cultures. Let’s explore our world’s uniqueness through art. Each class we will learn about a new country and draw our Travel Girl in the traditional and/or popular clothing of the country. Students will enhance their world knowledge by reviewing basic facts about various countries that the Travel Girl character visits. Also, students will improve their drawing ability by using common shapes and lines to create a character.
I have traveled to more than 30 countries and lived in five countries. I have a BA in Sociology from UCLA in Los Angeles. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies from USC in Los Angeles. With a combination of real life travel experiences and cultural studies in college, I am eager to share the beauty of our diverse world through drawing of my original character, Travel Girl .
Homework Offered
1.) Color the picture drawn in class and upload to our classroom site. 2.) Complete the "Travel Girl's Diary" worksheet by writing about "a day in the life" of Travel Girl.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
