In this class, students will apply their knowledge on adding and multiplying decimals to successfully plan a trip to Disney. They will choose their type of travel, hotel accommodations, food packages, ride options, and more! Students will be challenged to produce a correct answer for each aspect of their trip, but review of the mathematical concept will be provided before work begins. At the end, students will be able to see how much a realistic trip to Disney World might cost! With front-seat ride videos sprinkled throughout their challenge, students will enhance their understanding of decimal operations, learn more about Disney World, and also begin developing the real-world skill of planning a vacation!
Learning Goals
Students will develop and/or enhance their understanding of decimal operations in math, specifically adding and multiplying decimals. They will also begin to develop a sense of how to budget and plan a realistic vacation.
