Description
Class Experience
This ongoing class takes students on an exciting journey across the continent of Asia. We will explore a new country in a different region each week. We'll learn about the country's geography, flag, culture, landmarks, and other interesting facts through an engaging slideshow presentation and discussion. If time allows, we will play a review game in blooket before class ends. Below is a weekly schedule (subject to change depending on students' interests): Week of 08/06/23: Jordan Week of...
Students will have a better understanding of the geography, and people of the countries we visit each week.
I have my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sociology and have studied different cultures around the world. I have a deep love for geography and history. I always welcome the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion with learners.
A one-page worksheet is provided in class for each lesson. Although this is optional, I encourage learners to do their best to bring it to class each week. You may also come to class with a sheet of paper and a writing utensil.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I do my best to create any video content I use in class myself. However, there will be times when I will play a short You-Tube video during a lesson. Content will be age-appropriate If there is more time after any lesson, we will play blooket to review what we learned in class. Learners will only need to click on a link from me in the zoom chatbox in order to have access or join in the game. No additional device or account is needed for this. Upon request, I will occasionally send the link for learners to review the lesson at home.
