Dive underwater and learn the danger of marine debris to our oceans and the importance of picking up trash to help keep our oceans clean. Program includes live visits from some of our sea turtle patients affected by trash in our oceans.

This class begins with an interactive PowerPoint presentation defining marine debris, discussing the influence trash has on the environment, and concluding with ways everyone can help reduce their impact on our planet. Class includes a visit to our sea turtle hospital to observe our current patients impacted by marine debris. The students will engage in question and answer and discussion throughout the length of the class. No prior knowledge is needed to join this class.
Students will gain an understanding of the effects trash has on our oceans and ways they can help.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The teacher will assess the students understanding of the material throughout the lesson based on student participation.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
