Class Experience

This is a comprehensive leadership course tailored for learners aged 10-12. Over the course of three engaging modules, participants embark on a transformative exploration of self-awareness, effective communication, and ethical leadership principles.

This course equips participants with the tools, skills, and mindset needed to become confident, compassionate, and ethical leaders. By embracing their unique abilities and embracing the values of integrity and collaboration, participants are empowered to lead with purpose and make a difference in the world around them.

Students will emerge as empowered leaders equipped to navigate challenges, foster collaboration, and make positive contributions to their communities and beyond.

Syllabus

3 Lessons
over 3 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Discovering My Leadership Potential
 In this module, learners embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery. Through interactive activities and discussions, they uncover their unique strengths, passions, and leadership styles. By the end of the module, participants gain a newfound confidence in their ability to lead and inspire others. 
Lesson 2:
Communication and Collaboration
 Communication is key to successful leadership. In this module, learners hone their communication skills and learn the art of collaboration. Through fun group exercises and role-playing scenarios, they develop empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution techniques, empowering them to build strong relationships and work effectively with others. 
Lesson 3:
Leading with Integrity
 Ethical leadership lies at the heart of effective leadership. In this module, learners delve into the principles of integrity, honesty, and responsibility. Through thought-provoking discussions and real-world case studies, they explore the importance of making ethical decisions and leading by example. Armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, participants are encouraged to take action and make a positive impact in their communities.

My name is Shaunita Grase, and I'm passionate about empowering students to thrive in any learning environment. With 12 years of experience teaching online at both the post-secondary and secondary levels, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the virtual classroom.

In addition to my college degrees, I am a Certified Public Manager, Certified Personal Trainer (Certificate Number 1241168603) and Certified Nutrition Coach (Certificate Number1241219098) through the National Association of Sports Medicine. 

As a certified special education teacher, I specialize in literacy, gifted education, and behavior management. This background allows me to tailor instruction to individual needs and create a supportive learning atmosphere for all students. I currently serve as the behavior coach for my school district, and I have experience as a behavior therapist, further solidifying my commitment to student success.

I believe every learner deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. My philosophy centers around individualized instruction, celebrating growth of all sizes, and providing the right support systems to help students blossom. My role extends beyond academics; I strive to equip students with self-awareness strategies and practical skills for success both in the classroom and beyond.

My passion for working with young people extends beyond the classroom. I'm an assistant basketball coach, finding joy in connecting with students in different settings. My diverse background also includes 17 years of experience as a law enforcement officer and my previous role teaching college-level criminal justice courses online.

My interests are as multifaceted as my experience. I'm enthusiastic about social media content design, health and wellness, and leadership development. I'm eager to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with you and your learner!
