Track It! Be an Animal Tracking Detective

In this one-day class, students will learn how to differentiate between different animal tracks and why animal's leave behind their tracks. We will learn about Plantigrades, Digitigrades and Unguligrades and the differences between these animal's tracks. Additionally, students will learn about the movement of animals based on their tracks. We will play a short game where we will try and determine which animal matches with which track. The class will conclude with the students looking at a variety of outdoor landscapes and using the animal tracks as evidence to determine what happened. The class is interactive as the students will be engaged and answering questions. The students do not need prior knowledge of animal tracks to participate in the class.
