Class Experience

Come to class dressed in your favorite Toy Story gear and get ready to search with this engaging Toy Story scavenger hunt. Students will be given clues for items to search for and will quickly get to share what they found to the other learners. Each item that needs to be found will be related to one of the characters from Toy Story.

The class format is as follows:
Introductions (Students can bring one toy to show at the beginning of class.)
Brief Explanation of the game and rules
Teacher will read off clues and students will be given 1-2 minutes to find each item. (Example of type of clues given: Woody- find something a cowboy would wear or use)
Students will quickly show the item they found to the group.

The number of searches completed will depend on how quickly students get back with the objects and the amount of time it takes for everyone to share.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and have 12 years of teaching experience. I spent three years teaching Kindergarten and nine years instructing 2nd grade, with three of those dedicated to virtual schooling. My teaching journey includes working in public schools and offering online classes to younger learners, even as young as two years old.

My main teaching focus is geared towards early education and lower elementary. I feel it is very beneficial to teach children to enjoy learning at a young age. This will hopefully continue with them as content becomes increasingly more difficult. My goal for teaching is make learning fun through using games, interactive activities, children's literature, and arts and crafts.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, reading and going on trips!

I look forward to meeting you soon!
