Description

Class Experience

Students will understand the creation, development, and events that shaped the game of football. Additionally, learners will see how historical events in America impacted society and the game as a whole.
Like many people across the world, I am an ardent football fan and have been as long as I can remember. In addition to playing over a decade, refereeing in leagues, and coaching numerous teams, I am also a student of history and am enamored with the story of the sport. I have a passion for teaching and a passion for football, which combines to make this a unique class for avid fans, those interested in playing the game, and those just wanting to learn about a new sport!
No homework is assigned.
Learners will be provided the presentation, in addition to all the questions and answers that we will use during the assessment game. Learners are also encouraged to take notes either electronically or in a notebook (approximately $2).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Question Football! At the end of the course, each learner will be able to choose a question for the following amount of points: 3 (field goal), 6 (touchdown), 7 (touchdown and extra point), and 8 (touchdown and two-point conversion), with difficulty increasing as points increase. Each learner will have 3 rounds to gain as many points as possible, with the learner with the highest total points after 3 rounds being our Football Champion!
This session is designed to be fun, light-hearted, and a chance to foster some good, clean competition, just like football!
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
