Description
Class Experience
Students will gain basic music competence skills (the ability to sing in tune and keep an accurate beat) through hand drumming, musical games, and creative play. They will also learn basic rhythmic notation and dynamics.
Students are encouraged to listen to and play with the songs and rhythm patterns we covered in class. They will have the CD and song book to refer to. Parents will have the option of setting up a Family Music Zone® account with Music Together® through which they can also download the music and access additional drumming videos.
Learners will need a hand drum, or an item to use in its place (laundry basket, bucket, box). Ms. Michelle will be using the djembe. If you wish to purchase a Djembe, please message Ms. Michelle for information regarding discounts arranged by Music Together® with certain retailers. Learners will also need a set of rhythm sticks (or something to click together: pebbles or chopsticks will do), and from time to time household items to use in our games (towels, toys, etc).Students Materials included in the tuition include: Song Book CD Download Code and access to Rhythm Kids® by Music Together® supplemental online on demand videos. Your mailing address will be needed to send these materials and will not be used for any other purpose.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

This class follows the Rhythm Kids® by Music Together® curriculum. Additional optional support and resources are available through the Family Music Zone® on the Music Together® website, www.musictogether.com. From time to time, we may refer to age appropriate YouTube videos as well as the Music Together materials.
