This will be a part lecture part discussion-based class on topics in biotechnology. Students will learn by interacting with the teacher and with each other. Class 1 will cover nanobiotechnology, class 2 will cover gene therapy, and class 3 will cover stem cell therapy. In each class, we will discuss how the specific technology works, why it is important in the biomedical field, and the benefits and the risks of the technology. We will also explore specific areas of research where the technology is being used to address crucial scientific questions. Questions will be welcomed throughout, and I will answer any questions about the science and encourage others to give their thoughts as well.
