Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
In this ongoing class, learners will go beyond the textbook and discuss science-related topics that are relevant to our daily lives. Each week, learners will discover an interesting topic in one of three areas of science, engineering, or technology. Science topics may include interesting lessons and discussions related to earth science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, and biology. Engineering topics may include lessons and discussions based on engineering techniques and advancements while technology may include how we make those advancements. This is a casual class atmosphere that is based mostly on discussion after a short introduction to that week's topic. It is an atmosphere that welcomes brainstorming and creative thought and should be a springboard for deeper thought and exploration. The idea behind this class is to get kids interested in science and wondering how things work so that they can develop a love for science.

Week 1: General Science Topic/ How does space travel affect the human body?
Week 2: Engineering Topic/How are rockets constructed?
Week 3: Technology Topic/ How has computer technology advanced?
Week 4: General Science Topic/ How can the Sun affect our daily lives?
Week 5: Engineering Topic/ How are solar panels constructed?
Week 6: Technology Topic/ How does artificial intelligence affect our lives?
Week 7: General Science Topic: How do waves travel?
Week 8: Engineering Topic/ How are bridges constructed?
Week 9: Technology Topic/ How have telephones evolved?

Each class will begin with a brief introduction via slides I have prepared and move into our discussion on that week's topic.

I hope to see your child in class!
