Class Experience

This is an excellent supplemental course to my Introduction to 9th Grade English Language Arts Class I'm offering this semester. This course will dive deeper into the actual academic and domain specific words of our English language.

What will be taught?
In this course, I will teach in a fun and informative way the top ten literary terms in a English Language Arts class. These words are the language of English and not knowing them will hurt your chances of being successful in college English...

RL.4: Interpret words and phrases as they are used in a text, including determining technical, connotative, and figurative
meanings, and analyze how specific word choices shape meaning or tone.
L.4: Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases by using context clues, analyzing meaningful word parts, and consulting general and specialized reference materials, as appropriate.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
