Greeting to ESL Class: Hello, and welcome to my ESL classroom! I am Teacher Daniel, an experienced and certified teacher with a degree in English Literature, and seven years of teaching experience both online and offline, with over 5000 classes taught to students all around the world. These experiences have yielded an understanding and love for teaching that goes beyond the general knowledge taught in university, and has given me insights into teaching that have allowed me to craft unique and engaging classes for all learners. This is an intensive course and requires an intermediate level of proficiency before beginning. If you have any questions about your child's ability to take the course, feel free to email me ahead of time. This course will cover all areas of the TOEFL: Reading Comprehension, Integrated and Academic Writing Discussions, Speaking Sections 1-4, and Listening Retention. Each class is tailored to the needs of the student, and we will hone in on areas of improvement; however, in each session I seek to cover two areas of the exam. Taking the first 5 minutes to incorporate a general discussion, followed by 20 minutes of focus on each TOEFL section. The combinations of focus will vary depending on the student, The class will conclude with constructive criticism and a homework assignment in one of the four areas. If there are specific areas the student requires immediate help in, just let me know and I will make sure our lessons are focused upon the necessary area(s). I will utilize the program Bestmytest.com, among other engaging materials, to create a dynamic and engaging learning experience making certain that your child gains the skills and confidence needed to perform at their best during the TOEFL exam. This is a very intensive course and will require the student to be at least a C1 level or above to begin. In this course we will not only practice the areas of the TOEFL, but I will expound upon those things further by incorporating: book reading, essay writing, critical thinking exercises, and discussions. The student will not need any material prior to class other then to bring a paper and pencil to class. I have and will provide all the necessary materials via PDF documents and power points. I also belong to multiple websites with a wide, wide range of TOEFL mock tests that will we will go through step by step, and, when necessary, I will send downloadable files for the student to complete and send back. More in depth details of what this course can and will provide are listed below. 1.
