Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I love to teach classes that are as unique and individual as the learner is; I teach US and world history, unexpected science; as well as math and art games.

I have been working with kids for 40 years; I have taught preschool aged children, before and after school science programs to elementary school children, and I have tutored middle and high school students with a national program. After I raised my own children, I taught high school science and recently I have taught before and after school enrichment programs to elementary school students and been a paraprofessional with special needs students in a classroom setting.

I believe that students learn best when they have a relationship with the teacher, and the teacher has an understanding of the students and the world that the students are in. I strive to know my students academically and their social and emotional well being. Sense of humor and communication are key to learning. Openness and kindness are essential as well.

I look for gnomes in my free time, and my husband and I are currently writing a children's book. My favorite book character is Snape from Harry Potter and I love randomness in science, life and stories. Pink is powerful and there is a reason cats have been worshipped for centuries.
