Students will improve their reading comprehension skills. Students will learn about the Titanic create a lapbook to display the information on. Students will expand upon others thoughts and ideas through discussions.
A small amount of independent reading will be required by each student. This can be done by listening to the authors read alouds or it can be done independently. If your child would prefer the author's read alouds, contact me and I will provide those.
Students will need a copy of the book "I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912." A printer will be required for printing items for our lapbooks. In addition, one standard MANILLA folder, a pencil, scissors, crayons or colored pencils, and a glue stick will be necessary for the class.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This book does discuss the sinking of the Titanic. There may be scenes that could frighten younger learners.
