Class Experience
During this engaging course, students will learn about the history surrounding the ship, The Titanic. Topics to be covered will include: the architecture of the ship, the historical setting in England and the United States, the people that boarded and worked on the ship, the sinking of the ship, survivor stories, and explorations of the sunken ship. Each week an interactive lesson will be posted in the classroom along with a weekly assignment. The lesson will include a video, primary and...
I have over twenty years of experience working with and teaching students. I have a bachelor's degree in both History and Economics. My master's degree is in Higher Education. I also have a Juris Doctorate degree in Law. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching, history in particular!
Each week a project will be posted in the classroom. Learners will have one week to complete the project. Feedback and encouragement from the teacher will be provided for assignments.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
During this class, there will be discussions of the tragedy and deaths that occurred when the Titanic sank. The discussion will be kept at an age-appropriate level. Nearpod, Gimkit, and Kahoot! will be used during this course as external resources. Learners do not need an account to access these resources. Learners will follow a link and put in their first name to join the activities.
