During this engaging course, students will learn about the history surrounding the ship, The Titanic. Topics to be covered will include the building of the ship, the historical setting in England and the United States, the people who boarded and worked on the ship, the sinking of the ship, survivor stories, and explorations of the sunken ship. The lesson will include a video, primary and secondary historical sources, and activities to immerse learners in this era of history.
Learning Goals
Understand the economic, social, and technological factors that influenced the construction and voyage of the Titanic.
Analyze the key events and decisions that led to the Titanic's collision with an iceberg and its subsequent sinking.

Parental Guidance
During this class, there will be discussions of the tragedy and deaths that occurred when the Titanic sank. The discussion will be kept at an age-appropriate level.
Nearpod, Gimkit, and Kahoot! will be used during this course as external resources. Learners do not need an account to access these resources. Learners will follow a link and put in their first name to join the activities.
