Join us to hear fall stories and Thanksgiving stories in November and Christmas stories in December. In this ongoing interactive read-aloud class, students will answer comprehension questions, make inferences and predictions, and be introduced to new vocabulary words as I read a different picture book to them each day. Students will make connections with the books (text to self, text to text, text to world) and each other in this shared literacy experience. This class is the same format...
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please understand that I will be reading the books and students will be answering questions about the books. They will not be reading the text. They will use what they hear in the story to answer comprehension questions, make connections, ask questions, make predictions, make inferences, and learn new vocabulary words. Santa Claus will be in some of the books that we read in this class. I will neither confirm nor deny the existence of Santa Claus. If it comes up in class I will refer students to their parents. This class is secular in nature and although I will not teach anything of a religious nature, students might bring up their beliefs or experiences. I will refer students to their parents if they ask any religious questions. This class will not meet during Thanksgiving week or Christmas week.
