Beginner Level
Begin a fun journey to learn about your own mind. My teaching approach is experiential in that we work through together any memorization exercises to see how your childs brain likes to learn. I am very big on showing kids things so that they feel they know what to do next, as opposed to asking them to do things when they aren't sure what the request is! No specialized knowledge is needed for this class and they will have a lot of interaction and support all the way. We will cover: 1. How your child and their brain likes to learn 2. What tips and tricks and techniques work within that framework 3. Exercises and fun games to get their brain absorbing the information 4. Different ways to remember different things - words, numbers, etc. and much more! We work with what type of learner they are (Visual Experiential or kinesthetic Auditory reading/writing Musical logical/analytical social/linguistic Solitary Nature learners) and many ways of memorizing (Rote repetition Rhythm repetition Aural - recording Acronym or alphabet Writing it out- capitalizes on our eye/hand memory Mnemonic image- links images and words- spanish word dormir, remember dorm and you sleep in a dorm Rhyming memorization- great for numbers- one-gun, 2 shoe Active recall- test yourself as you go) and more! This class is tailored for 7-12 year olds as this is a great lead up to harder middle school assignments and entering high school where memorization is needed more.

Other Details
Learning Needs
This class absolutely takes into account tips and techniques that help memorization even with 'busy' brains which are also juggling ADHD or Dyslexia. There are exercises that can use these special needs to the childs advantage in learning.
Pre-Requisites
Each child should come with a goal; a monologue to memorize, a piece of music they have to learn, a math test they must study for. If they don't have a goal then we will create one in class!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
