Calling all fans of The Nutcracker! This exciting, one-time ballet class for beginners is just what you are looking for! Come dance, play, and have a blast while practicing beginner ballet skills with Miss Zoe! Class Breakdown: Welcome & Share Time (Optional) Warm Up - Exercise your body and imagination with guided stretches and a creative movement exercise geared towards flexibility, locomotion, and expression. Storytime & Ballet Class - Check out The Nutcracker written by The New York City Ballet in a read aloud story time, and practice beginner ballet steps with ballet music from The Nutcracker. This section uses mirroring, free movement, and instruction to get dancers moving and learning foundational ballet skills. Creative Movement - Use your imagination, engage your gross motor skills, and have some fun with character themed games and creative movement activities. • This is a beginning skill level class. There are no required skills for this class. • No equipment or attire is required for this class. • Time for Sharing will be offered at the beginning of class, and again at the end if time allows. • Students will be allowed to speak to the teacher throughout the class. The mute feature will be used if necessary to assure sound quality for all students. • Audio and video will not be required throughout class; however, video identification will be required once during each session in accordance with Outschool safety regulations. • For more information on classroom policies, please visit my teacher profile or send me a message. Meet the Teacher: Hello! My name is Miss Zoe. I am so excited to join you on your journey of learning! I am a certified childhood educator with a background in dance and movement. I have a bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina where I studied history as well as education and modern/contemporary dance. I aim to create a happy and inclusive classroom where students feel safe and encouraged to make mistakes and celebrate successes. I allow students to participate at their own comfort level and ability. I only ask that all my learners try their very best! I am energetic and excited about teaching a variety of subjects here on Outschool. Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is not required for this class; however, parents should be advised that physical activities such as dance can cause injury. Please make sure students have appropriate space and attire to ensure safety during class instruction. Younger learners may need help navigating the ZOOM platform. Please familiarize your learner with the mute/ unmute feature if you are unable to assist them during class time.
Supply List
Please have enough space for your learner to move comfortably, and dress in moveable attire. Bare feet or ballet shoes are preferred for this class. No socked feet. Ballet equipment and attire is not required for this class. Water breaks will be given throughout each class. Please have a beverage nearby to keep dancers hydrated.

I am a certified childhood educator with a background in dance and movement. I have a bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina where I studied history as well as education and modern/contemporary dance. I have experience teaching dance, ballet, gymnastics, and movement with the YMCA of WNC and Asheville Community Movement Gymnastics Center.
