Class Experience

Help your little princess build strength, grace, and confidence in this engaging beginner ballet class based on Disney's Frozen. Dancers of all skill levels and experience are invited to join in this exciting one-time class. Sign up now, and watch as your princess learns to shine their brightest!

Class Breakdown:
• Warm Up - Exercise your body and imagination with guided stretches and a creative movement exercises geared towards flexibility, locomotion, and expression. This section will use guided instruction and themed activities to get dancers engaged with class instruction and ready to move. Dancers will only need enough space to stretch and move around for this section. 
• Classical Ballet Class - Practice beginner ballet steps with music from Disney's Frozen. This section uses mirroring, free movement, and guided instruction to engage dancers with foundational ballet skills. Dancers will only need enough space to stretch and move around for this section. 
• Creative Movement - Finally, Dancers will build creative skills and engage with movement with Frozen themed games and activities. This section will include a short video from Frozen 2, and end with a freestyle dance party and a round of applause for the class. 

Learner Engagement
Time for sharing will be provided at the beginning of each class, and again at the end, if time allows. Dancers will be able to speak freely throughout each class; however, extraneous chatter will not be encouraged. Engagement is not required for this class. All learners are encouraged to participate at whatever level they are able and most comfortable. Video and audio will not be required; however, all students will be required to check in via video at least once per Outschool safety policy. The mute feature will be used if necessary to provide the best sound quality for all students. Dancers should be familiar with using this feature or have an adult nearby to help. Meet the Teacher
Hello friends! My name is Miss Zoë! I am a dance and movement teacher from the US with a lot of energy and a positive attitude. I have a bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina and four years of in-person preschool teaching experience. I have also worked professionally as a youth dance, ballet, and gymnastics instructor. I have formal dance training and collegiate athletic experience, as well as child development training. Learning Goals
Specific goals for this class include: learning basic ballet terminology; developing foundational ballet technique, posture, and movements; mastering gross motor skills including animal actions; learning to express simple feelings and ideas through movement; learn to identify basic rhythms and tempos; and improving self-awareness as well as self-confidence.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is not required for this class; however, parents should be advised that physical activities such as dance can cause injury. Please make sure students have appropriate space and attire to ensure safety during class instruction. Younger learners may need help navigating the ZOOM platform. Please familiarize your learner with the mute/ unmute feature if you are unable to assist them during class time.
Supply List
No ballet equipment or attire is required for this class. Dancers should have enough space to stretch and move comfortably, comfortable attire for dancing, and a beverage to stay hydrated during class. For specific questions, send Miss Zoë a message.
