Class Experience

In my Tiny Twirlers Class I like to incorporate basic counting and ABC work into the ballet curriculum - because learning can be fun! In this high-energy class, I always start with a welcome circle were I introduce myself and ask every student their name - feeling comfortable and welcome in my class is top priority! After a quick welcome circle, students will be guided through an engaging warm-up that helps with body awareness, coordination, and stretching. I will teach students how to "hug" their legs closed and make their feet "happy", all of which works on turn-out and pointing feet instead of flexing. After our warm-up, I'll guide students through basic ballet movements including "fairy arms", 1st and 2nd position, plié, and ballet hops. We will wrap up class with a group dance party where students get to show off their newly learned moves or freestyle if they wish! Although this is a one-time class, I will be introducing a new movement each week for those who choose to drop-in repeatedly and wish to have new curriculum each time! In addition, Disney-inspired ballet music will be changed routinely and props may be added some weeks - anything in the name of fun! (No experience required)

Parental Guidance
Ballet requires an ample amount of workout space. Make sure that there is enough room for the students to dance and that the area is safe from hazardous materials that they can step or run into. Make sure that the floor is not slick as well. Students will need to make sure that they are warmed up and that they have a bottle of water with them. Be advised since this a physical course that parents monitor their children in order for them to stay safe.

Hey there!
I'm so excited to get creative with you! I offer one-on-one acting coaching and ballet classes to kids of all ages. I have over 7 years experience working with children as young as newborn all the way to age 18, whether it be childcare, tutoring, dance lessons, or acting coaching. I also have experience working with children who have special needs, learning disabilities, and hearing impairments.

A little about myself: I am a professional actress based in Los Angeles with a BFA degree in Acting and Film from Lindenwood University, St. Louis, MO. I later went on to study via Yale School of Drama. You can view some of my credits here - imdb.me/cassandraballard
I have been dancing since I was 8 years old and am currently enrolled at Align Ballet Method School in Los Angeles.

In my private acting lessons I like to focus heavily on the power of imagination! I believe a strong and well-supported imagination can do most of the work for us as actors and can remind us artists why we love acting in the first place....because it's FUN! All of my techniques I'll be teaching are based on Yale School of Drama curriculum. I also like to dive into character development, given circumstances, and scene study.

In my Tiny Twirlers ballet class, it's all about teaching kiddos coordination, body awareness, flexibility, and beginning ballet concepts while incorporating ABC and 1,2,3 learning. In this high energy class I work to keep young children engaged and moving.

I cannot wait to meet you!
