Class Experience
Classes will be 45 minutes long. This time will be spent learning the basics of using TinkerCAD. The basics will include talking about width, height, and length and the three-dimensional plane in which CAD happens. Students will learn to use the tools copy, paste, delete, group, and align. They will learn the location of the toolbar, navigation, and shape panel. Students will learn mathematical concepts such as length, width, height, millimeters, centimeters, and inches. They will also cover a brief history of 3d design and printing.
Tirre' is a STEM teacher at the elementary level. She has been teaching topics like 3D design, green screen, stop motion animation, coding, robotics, and circuits for the past 6 years.
Ruler with inches, centimeters, and millimeters. Mouse is helpful but not necessary.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will need to setup a TinkerCAD account prior to first class. This will require parent approval. Accounts can be setup at TinkerCAD.com
Students will use the site TinkerCAD. Additional tools to support learning: ruler that shows inches, centimeters, and millimeters.
